Here I am!

Published by Laura at 10:35 am under Home is Where the Heart is

The fact that Richard and I have been in the midst of moving has probably contibuted quite a bit to the quiet time on my blog. We moved on Saturday and slowly but surely things are shaping up! We still have a few boxes to unpack, a little touch-up painting to do, a few things that still need to be hung on the walls but we have made significant progress since Saturday! We now have a backyard and we can’t wait to work in the yard this spring! We both already have spring fever (with several inches of snow on the ground) and we are dreaming dreams of landscaping and hosting parties!

Olivia has adjusted very nicely to our new home. The first time we let her out in the backyard we forgot one of gates was open. Olivia is a runner and does not come when called unless she’s in the mood, so you can imaginebiur panic. I have to admit I wasn’t much help. I stood in the backyard in my pajaamas and socks in about 4 inhes of snow with a bag of doggie treats in my hands bawling my eyes out. Richard was running around the neighborhood in a tshirt and pajama pants trying to find her. I could hear him talking to her so I knew he had her close by. She thinks the chasing is fun and a great game. We don’t. We finally got her back in the gate. I went to the back gate and said,”Olivia, come!” in a really happy voice and apparently she was in the mood to follow directions at that moment because she came barreling through the back gate. I wasn’t sure if I should shoot her or hug her! That dog!!!! Thank gooness that’s the only escape story I have! She loves the backyard and even stayed out all day yesterday while Richard and I were at work.

I am so thankful for our new home. We have had the best time organizing, decorating and planning improvement projects. It already feels like home! This is just the cozy place we needed!

I’m so happy for you, Laura! The house is beautiful and I know ya’ll and especially Olivia are happy to have a yard! Enjoy the snow! Sorry to hear about Olivia getting out! Spice got out at our old house and took off like a bat out of you know where! Sassie got out two days ago! It is pretty terrifying when you knw that they can WAY out run you! I’m glad she got back safe and sound!

I love the new house! Is it close to your school? I bet Olivia will love having a yard to play in…just keep the gates shut! :)
