Debate
I am watching the debate and it is making me so tense! It’s not getting especially heated or anything, but for some reason the going back and forth is stressing me out.
I am so glad I have a knitting project to keep me from going completely crazy!!!

Happy 4th of July!

Super Tuesday
My blogging for the last week or so has basically been nonexistent. I have been sick since last Tuesday and despite my best efforts (including a dr.’s visit and 3 prescriptions) I just can’t seem to kick whatever I’ve got.
However, I wanted to drop in to remind everyone to get out and vote on Super Tuesday. I will be casting my vote for Governor Mike Huckabee. It is clear that the media and his rivals would like tomorrow to be Huckabee’s last in the campaign, but I am confident that because of Huckabee’s executive experience and stand on the Human Life amendment, real border security, the Fair Tax, preventive health care, and other major issues that he’ll make it all the way to the White House—but only if true conservatives get out and vote true conservative values!
We have a responsibility to the future of our nation to put someone with true conservative values in the position to be elected President of the United States. If the Democrats and the Republicats (McCain and Romney) have their way, one day our grandchildren will be told stories of the days when America was free. It sounds far fetched, but it’s not. Keep true conservative values alive in our country—vote for HUCKABEE!
Update: Something else to think about… Unless you are in favor of Obama or Hillary being in office, we must have a Republican nominee who can out-debate Obama or Hillary. Of the 3 Republicans still in the running, Huckabee is the only one who has what it takes to go against the Democrats and be successful.

A Little Bit of Everything

It’s official. I am addicted to knitting. I finished the blue and purple scarves. I had initially intended for Richard to have the blue one, but we both agreed that it wasn’t really manly enough for him. I think I need to do a a taupe, gray, or black one for him–or a dark navy might be nice. I even put fringe on the purple one. It’s very cute if I do say so myself. I am knitting the middle size bag (shown in brown on the pattern cover). I am knitting this so I’ll have something fun to carry my knitting materials in. I am not thrilled about the felted handles, but we’ll see. I think black wooden handles might look better. |

I made Fish Tacos today for lunch. I had such fun making this recipe! I loved working with the colorful fruits and vegetables. The only ‘work’ involved is the slicing and dicing. Instead of shredded cabbage I used shredded lettuce (no carrots). I didn’t use the traditional taco shells. We used fajita size tortillas—I think next time we’ll use flat bread. It is actually good without any shell’ at all! |

After we had lunch, we went to our city’s main public library. After going to the main public library in Nashville, TN we were inspired to visit our’s. We typically go to the branch library in our neighborhood. I checked out one of Francine Rivers’ books. I haven’t started it yet, but it is about the life of Tamar. It was recommended by a good friend with good taste. For Christmas, I got this book. I have a lot of reading to do! A few of my friends and I are starting a bookclub with these books. I am very excited about reading these books again with my friends. We are all just about as different as the women in the books! |

So can y’all believe how well Huckabee is doing? Richard and I are supporters and are thrilled about how his campaign has taken off. Thursday night we had the opportunity to join other Republicans at an Iowa caucuses result watch party in support of Governor Huckabee. We had great time visiting with friends and hearing the good reports from the Iowa caucuses in a room full of Republican Huckabee supporters here in Arkansas. Note: Monday is the deadline in AR to register to vote in time for the primaries in our state. |
I hope y’all have had a great weekend! I think Richard and I are both in denial that our Christmas Vacation is over as of tomorrow! We’re still drinking Egg Nog if that tells you anything.

V.I.U. (Very Important Update)
|
Happy New Year! We’re only a few days into 2008, but just the same I hope it’s been a good year for you so far. I have a little update on my knitting projects–Richard and I drove to Nashville last weekend to see my brother and sister-in-law (and their doggies) so I had a lot of time in the car to knit. I am working on 2 different scarves. On the purple one, I am doing several different stitches for practice on the different patterns. On the blue one, I am doing a broken cable pattern. They are both a lot of fun for right now. I think I want my next project to be a felted bag, so I have something to carry my knitting in. |

Did anyone catch Mike Huckabee on Jay Leno last night? Richard and I stayed up “late” to watch it.Huckabee was great! Even one of my teacher friends who supports Hillary Clinton mentioned how good Huckabee was on Leno and that she thinks he’ll win! Richard and I will definitely watch the Iowa caucus results come in tonight. Like some (I won’t say many because I am very familiar with my readership) Oh, and by the way. I have been very excited about the season-appropriate weather we’ve been experiencing here in Central Arkansas. This morning when I left for work it was 21 degrees. Speaking of work and weather, please join me in praying for several feet (nothing is too big God) of snow in mid-January or sometime in February. The kids and I will be needing a break by then. Thank you very much. |
